This is useful if you want the attendee to choose one among multiple sessions that they want to attend, and automatically show details only about that session to the attendee.
Create a field to capture which session the user wants to attend
On the event dashboard, click on the event app card. This will take you to the event app module page.
Click on the “Edit Profile Form” tab under “Settings”.
Add a new single select field by clicking on the "Add Field +" option.
Choose Single Select as the field type.
Enter the question in the name field.
Enter the session names as options.
Make this field required by clicking on the "This field is required" checkbox on the bottom of the popup.
Create dynamic groups for every option
In the event dashboard, click on the people in the top bar. This brings up the list of all attendees.
In the left-hand side menu, click on ‘Manage Groups’ under the settings section. This will bring up the list of all groups currently present for the event.
Click the ‘Add group’ button. This will bring up a modal with a form to create a new group.
Put in the group name(same as the name of the session so that it can be referenced easily later), which is mandatory.
Click on the advanced section and enable the “Dynamic group” checkbox. This will let you add rules based on which attendees get auto-assigned to this group.
Click on “Add rule”. This brings up the rule form. The rule form contains three parts. Select the field on which you want to base the rule from the first dropdown. This would be the single select field that was created in Step 1. In the second drop-down, select the comparison method to "is", and in the third drop-down choose the first option.
Repeat the above process for all the other options.
Scope sessions based on the dynamic groups created above
In the event dashboard, click on content in the top bar.
Click on the Agenda Page.
Click on a session that has to be scoped to the groups created in the previous section.
From the dropdown menu, which says “Available To: Everyone” select “Group”. This will reveal another field that allows you to select the groups to whom you want to make this session visible to, select the dynamic group with the same name as the session that was created in the previous section.
Repeat this step for the other sessions as well.
